Mourn What You Lost

This was an idea I've had bouncing around in my head for a while. I was able to sketch it out, but it took me something like 3 or 4 months to iron out wtf I was trying to do here.

Violet's always had a love/hate relationship with who and what she is. There was a period of time when she flaunted her vampiric side, not really giving a damn who knew what she was - and then something happened and she flipped, to the point where she feels a deep-seeded shame about what she is. She herself wasn't gently changed over - when she became a vampire, she'd had no say in the matter - and deep down she's always mourned losing that other side of herself, the side that could be gentle and sweet and could love sunlight and could do something so simple as look in a mirror.

I really liked the idea of a mirror that reflected nothing back at her - because in her eyes everything that should be reflected back has been taken away from her.
